founders in the sea off the Devon coast UK.

for details
There is NO reason why this couldn't happen to a bulk carrier anchored
in the Gulf, at the mercy of a category five cyclone, with disastrous
consequences guaranteed from fuel oil spillages, as can be seen
in the first image.
MSC Napoli stricken.

As the stricken ship founders, the large crack in its side
becomes visible above the vessel's waterline. The ship appears
to have suffered structural failure during the strorm and
not as a result of being deliberately beached. |
Listing heavily in the sea off the Devon coast.

Demonstrating the huge scale of these ships. However at 62,000
tonnes and 275 metres long, MSC Napoli is still not as large
as the 300 metre ships proposed for Gulf shipping by Straits
Resources. |
